It is always great pleasure to welcome people to The Geelong College, whether they be students and families visiting for the first time or past students and others returning after years away.
The College is a special place and has played a role in the development of thousands of students and their families since 1861. We aim to inspire students to learn how to learn, to flourish, be innovative and aspire to futures that harness their many skills and abilities. But it is not just the students who are learning, staff and parents too seek challenges and development here at College.
Our students learn to be respectful and courageous, as they develop their academic, emotional, physical, social and spiritual potential and prepare to be positive contributors to society through a broad range of learning experiences.
We believe passionately in coeducation, where girls and boys, and young men and women, learn how to learn and lead together in a respectful environment. The real world is not segregated and in coeducational schools, girls and boys work collaboratively, exchange ideas, learn from each other and develop greater understanding of self and others.
The College is a Uniting Church School where we seek to prepare young men and women to be leaders who are able to connect the Christian faith, their personal spirituality and their planned contribution to our world. While we are a Christian school, The Geelong College upholds the values of freedom and choice by respecting the rights of all people to live by other faith traditions. We encourage conversation and communication as we learn together to accept the individual beliefs of each person shaping their own convictions and commitments.
This website is a glimpse of the richness and diversity of the learning experiences at our College. I warmly invite you to visit us, to meet our staff and students and to experience the College for yourself.
