COVID Update Friday 12 February 2021

Due to the stage 4 lockdown in Victoria, the Recreation Centre will be closed from Saturday 13 February and will reopen on Monday 22 February.

 

Masks

From Thursday 4 February, until otherwise advised, Adults and children over 12 years must wear a mask in the Centre unless swimming.

Lap Swimming
  • The pool is available for limited lap swimming, walking and mild exercise with a pay-as-you-go system, see entry prices below. Fixed term memberships will become active on the commencement of Term 1 2021.
  • No patrons’ restrictions apply as of 6 January 2021.
  • All sessions are 1 hour per booking.
  • At times members may need to share lanes to accommodate an increase in patronage.
  • If you are feeling sick or unwell, you must cancel your booking and not attend the Centre. You can cancel your booking via email, or by calling the Centre.
  • Access without a booking will not be permitted.

Flexible Swimming Passes

From the beginning of 2021 all new memberships will be 10, 25 or 50 swim passes. Fixed term memberships will be honoured into 2021 until they expire and by 2022 all memberships will be flexible swim passes. More information on these passes, including prices will be available in January.

User Groups /Swim clubs

No user groups or swim clubs will be able to conduct their programs at the Centre until further notice.

About the Centre

The state-of-the-art aquatic centre features an indoor 8 lane, variable depth pool with a separate diving area with a 3m and 1m competition standard diving board. The centre has the capacity to host many aquatic competitions with a grandstand that can cater for approximately 250 people. The centre prides itself on its highest standard water quality and cleanliness. 

The pool caters for lap and squad swimming, Learn-to-Swim classes, water polo and diving, amongst other activities. The Recreation Centre is located beside the Rolland Centre at the Geelong College Senior School campus and can be accessed easily from Aphrasia Street.

Learn to Swim and Holiday Programs

The Geelong College Recreation Centre offers Learn-to-Swim and Intensive Holiday Programs and provides a positive learning experience for children.

The Geelong College Recreation Centre welcomes group bookings from clubs, schools and associations for training or one-off events.

Schools Programs and information

The Geelong College Recreation Centre 2019 programs are designed specifically for the needs of local schools and sporting organisations. We will continue our commitment to support the Victorian Education Learning Standards and local community groups.

 

Our qualified team of recreation professionals are friendly and enthusiastic which creates an enjoyable and safe environment for groups and individuals. Our aquatic instructors hold an AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification (or equivalent industry accreditation).
