Tinker Time at Middle School
NONE

Middle School staff and students have recently immersed themselves in the world of Markerspace by taking part in the CLRI's "Learning in a Maker-Centred Classroom" event and the "High-Tech Textiles" workshop run as a Year 8 Elective incursion.

Led by our inspiring Year 5 team (both staff and students), participants threw themselves into making and exploring the learning power of Hummingbird micro controllers, Arduino, Lilypad and Makey Makey. Teaching staff took their "teacher" hat off for the day and replaced it with that of a “learner”.

American educationalist, Gary Stager, one of the world's leading advocates for computer programming, robotics and learning-by-doing in classrooms also surprised those attending the CLRI event by dropping in for the day. Inspiring stuff!
