Equestrian Team Excellent in Grand Final

The Geelong College was strongly represented last weekend at the Victorian Equestrian Interschool Series (VEIS) Grand Final.

In the dressage:

  • Mimi Lockwood – Reserve Champion in the Novice Intermediate riding Fendi F
  • Elsie Callahan – 13th in the Novice Intermediate riding Bamborough Australis
  • Shayleigh Joblin – 8th in Preliminary Primary on Arielen Bentley
  • Maddison Rogers – 7th in Senior Novice riding Sunbury Lodge Vernon

In the show jumping

  • Olivia Batten – Champion in the Intermediate (100cm) on Fleur de Soleil and 7th in the Advanced (110cm) on Phoenician Oakley
  • Maddison Rogers – Champion in the Improvers (80cm) on Quamby Callan
  • Geelong College finished 4th in the School Teams Trophy

The VEIS has now finished for the year. Overall series placings for Geelong College were:

In the dressage:

  • Novice Intermediate dressage – Mimi Lockwood – 6th on Fendi F
  • Novice Intermediate dressage – Ella McCann – 18th on Tilly Park Charleston
  • Novice Intermediate dressage – Mimi Lockwood – 20th on Tarragon Park Alinta

In the show jumping:

  • Stars (120cm) – Georgie Batten 11th on Irish Reign
  • Advanced (110cm) – Georgie Batten 5th on Phoenician Oakley
  • Intermediate (100cm) – Olivia Batten 6th on Fleur de Soleil
  • Progressive (90cm) – Annabelle Unkenstein – 18th on Master Dilbert
  • Improvers (80cm) – Maddison Rogers – 3rd on Quamby Callan

The College also finished sixth overall in the show jumping school teams trophy for the series. Congratulations to all riders and huge thanks to Rob Kayler-Thomson and all the families who helped volunteer and support the riders throughout the season.
