At The Geelong College we welcome scholarship applications from students who will make the most of the opportunities offered at Geelong College, and who can make a positive contribution to our community.

We offer Academic, Boarding and Music Scholarships from Years 7 to 11, and encourage diversity and excellence at the College through this program.

The fee remission offered to each candidate (other than where stated in the scholarship descriptions) is at the discretion of the Principal and will take into consideration the scholarship exam results as well as current school performance and the candidate's community, sporting and personal achievements.

All candidates* scholarships must sit an examination facilitated by Edutest at The College held in february of the year before you wish to begin. A College presentation, morning tea and tours for parents are available during the test.

Registration:

Registration for candidates is closed for 2018, please check back in late October for information for the 2019 test.

In addition to completing the online application, applicants must email copies of the candidate's most recent school report and NAPLAN results in one PDF document to admissions@geelongcollege.vic.edu.au before their application can be processed.

*All external students applying for music scholarships are required to sit the academic scholarship test as well as audition. Current Geelong College students will only be required to audition. Auditions take place after the academic testing.

*All external students applying for the Howard Hitchcock Design and Creative Arts Scholarship are required to sit the academic scholarship test as well as prepare a portfolio and respond to the selection criteria.

* Applicants for the Jennie Hawkins Boarding Scholarship will be selected from boarding scholarship applicants who meet the scholarship criteria.

Practice tests:

Practice tests are available from Edutest here. These tests cover Verbal Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and Mathematics and are suitable for students from Year 6 to Year 10 (current Year Level).

The scholarship exams also include a Written Expression component which is not replicated in the practice tests. Click here for more information on the practice tests.

Music Scholarships:

The College has a vibrant music program offering individual lessons and ensembles of high standards across a range of instruments and musical styles. Music Scholarship recipients will be offered full remission of instrumental tuition fees on one instrument and part remission of academic fees, the amount of fee remission offered to each candidate is at the discretion of the Principal. For more information on Music Scholarships click here.

Indigenous Scholarships

Scholarships for Indigenous students are available through the Smith Family Indigenous Youth Leadership Program (IYLP). This program offers scholarships and leadership opportunities to young Indigenous Australians, with a focus on Indigenous youth from remote or regional communities and very remote areas of the country.
