Year 9
D. For entry to Year 9 – The Philip Hall Scholarship
A new scholarship, generously endowed by Mr Philip Hall (OGC 1936) and to become known as the Philip Hall Scholarship, is available to academically able students from 2010. It will henceforth be awarded every four years.
The Philip Hall Scholarship is valued at three terms’ tuition fees per annum and is tenable for four years. Although the scholarship will be based on performance in the ACER tests, other talents may also be taken into account. Supporting documentation, such as school reports and evidence of a wide range of interests, will be required if the candidate is short-listed.
The academic and general progress of the scholarship holder will be reviewed annually.
E. For entry to Year 9
Incorporating the K McK Doig,Christina Armstrong, James Boyd, Marjorie L Balmer, Farquharw Duncan and Flora MacDonald and Rae Clyde Harvey Scholarships.
One or two scholarships, valued at two terms’ tuition fees per annum and tenable for four years, may be awarded based on results in the ACER tests.
The academic and general progress of the scholarship holder will be reviewed annually.
F. For entry to Year 9 - The Francis and Aline Roland Scholarships (boarding)
Tenablefor four years, this scholarship will be awarded to a student entering boarding in Year 9. It will be based on academic merit and all-round ability.
As bursary assistance is currently available to new female boarders at The Geelong College*, this scholarship applies only to boys in 2010.
Supporting documentation, such as school reports and evidence of a wide range of interests, must be included with the application.
The value of this scholarship is $6,000 per annum.
The academic and general progress of the scholarship holder will be reviewed annually.

G. For entry to Year 9 - The Old Geelong Collegians’ Scholarship
The Old Geelong Collegians’ Scholarship, generously funded by the Old Geelong Collegians’ Association, is available to the son or daughter of an Old Collegian.
The scholarship is valued at one term’s tuition fees per annum and is tenable for four years, subject to satisfactory academic and general progress being made each year. The F D Walter Bursary may also be awarded from time to time to supplement this scholarship.
While the scholarship will primarily be based on performance in the ACER testing program, the particular talents of the student will be taken into consideration, as well as financial need.
Supporting documentation, such as school reports and evidence of a wide range of interests, must be included with the application.
The academic and general progress of the scholarship holder will be reviewed annually.
