Friends of the College
The Friends of the College is a support group established to retain, foster and cultivate friendships developed from an association with The Geelong College.
Anyone can be a member, particularly those who have no other immediate avenue of contact with the College such as past parents, grandparents, relations of Old Collegians and friends of the school including neighbours and businesses.
The objectives of the Friends of the College are to:
- retain and strengthen the bonds of friendship and association with the College
- provide support for the College
- be financially self supporting
The Friends hold a cocktail party function each year and take part in the College Carnival, held every third year, by running a second hand bookstall. The Friends do not organise fundraising activities, but become involved in school activities as they arise and assist in various ways. Some Friends are on the Volunteers register. All members of the Friends of The Geelong College receive copies of the school community magazine, Ad Astra, and are welcome to attend publicised College functions.
If you would like more information on how to become a member of the Friends of the College, phone the Community Relations and Development Office on (03) 5226 3123.
