Welcome

Principal’s Welcome

With a proud history since 1861 as one of Australia’s leading independent schools, today’s Geelong College is a thriving learning community where tradition and innovation are woven into the ethos and practices of the school.

Geelong College students are confident, competent and well-rounded young people who are learning to lead fulfilling lives. An extensive co-curricular program enabling them to take up enriching opportunities in music, sport, drama and the outdoors assists this process.

Geelong College students are also learning to become active and strategic thinkers under the guidance of committed teachers from Prep Grade through to Year 12. Our staff are passionate about their teaching and devoted to their students. They strive both to promote a love of learning and to instil the necessary knowledge and skills for College students to meet the challenges of the 21st Century. Our specialist programs at Years 4 (Enviro), 6 (Multimedia), 8 (Collaborate) and 9 and 10 (Outreach) also help connect our students to the wider world

The Geelong College believes strongly in an ethical approach to life and the school’s affiliation with the Uniting Church provides both a spiritual foundation and a values-based framework.

Whilst individuality is valued, our students are encouraged to collaborate and develop ideas with their fellow students and teachers and with members of the community as well. Learning in our school is a dynamic and interactive experience that engages the whole person in a range of interesting settings.

I warmly invite you to discover more about The Geelong College and what it means to be a lifelong learner here.
